I'm thinking of the way in which Gretchen Rubin defines the "rebel" tendency, which is not a "bad" way of being in the world. . . .
You raise a great point and I would like to learn more about the ‘rebel tendency’. I think that we educate a child to go where they need to go. They may not follow my path but they will take their own with the tools and support we give them.

Rubin's book The Four Tendencies is great, and she also has a quiz online so you can determine your type. It has been eye opening and extremely helpful! I like to re-frame the four "children" in the Hagaddah as the four tendencies, a la Rubin!
